Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho on October 21, 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get notoriety. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014 she continued to make music available on the web including her self released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. It was announced on December 8, that she had been signed to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the song Backseat along with Cozz. On October 21 2016 she debuted her first EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she performed in two tracks with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream, from the album came out September 5, 2018 with a music video. She dropped her follow-up single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then, on November 13 she debuted two more singles called the No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured alongside Cole in Creed II's sound track. Creed II sound track on November 16. The track was supported by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube in just a week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
